Floating palette not displaying correctly or hidden?
The command AutoPrice => View => Show/Hide Placeholder palette is a toggle that shows or hides the main AutoPrice floating palette.
In QuarkXPress, it is possible for the AutoPrice palette to get stuck off the screen. By holding down the Command and Option modifier keys, and choosing AutoPrice => View => Show Placeholder Palette, the floating palette will be reset to its default position on the screen.
In InDesign, the location of the palette is a function of the InDesign workspace. Reset your workspace to restore default palette positions. In certain cases, it may be necessary to reset the preferences for your copy of InDesign.
If the above steps fail to resolve the issue, you may also need to re-set your AutoPrice Preferences. Follow these steps to do so:
a) Navigate to the preferences folder for your application (either QuarkXPress or Adobe InDesign). The location of the Preferences folders is easy to get to. From the "Go" menu on your Macintosh, select "Go to Folder..." and type in "~/Library/Preferences/". This puts you in your preferences folder.
b) Now find the folder for your application. For QuarkXPress, look for a "Quark" folder. For InDesign, look for the "Adobe InDesign" folder.
c) Inside of this folder will be a set of sub-folders for your application. Open the version which corresponds to the version of the application you are running.
d) Look for a file called "MPS AutoPrice.prf". This will be loose in the folder, or contained within a "Meadows" sub-folder. Delete this file (note: you will need to reset any AutoPrice preferences you have changed).
e) Re-start QuarkXPress or InDesign. The AutoPrice palette should be restored to it's default position.
If all else fails, you may need to re-install your AutoPrice software.
