When processing large jobs in an Enfocus Switch workflow, Adobe InDesign may display the following error message:

Either the file does not exist, you do not have permission,
or the file may be in use by another application.

This message can occur when Switch times out during extended processing. In order to repair this issue, please set the following Enfocus Switch preference setting:

1. Select Enfocus Switch > Preferences...
2. Click on the Error Handling selection.
3. Verify the setting for Abort processes after (minutes). The default setting is 20 minutes, which could be too short when merging some large variable data jobs.
4. Set this value to 0, which will turn off the timeout. Optionally you can set this to some large number that you know should never be reached in normal operation.
5. Click OK to save the preferences.

Your Enfocus Switch system should now function properly with no timeout errors.
